This summary is only a guide. The agreement below is the same text that comes inside the app, and it's the one that counts.

IMPORTANT: READ CAREFULLY. By downloading, installing, copying, or using the CleanCut Suite software (the "Software"), you ("Licensee") agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.

1. Definitions

"Proprietary Components" means the cleaning engine (app/engine.py and the app/cms package, in source or compiled form), the management dashboard (app/ui.py), their algorithms (including subtitle timing interpolation and mute-window detection), the bundled word list, container images built from them, and all accompanying documentation.

"Third-Party Components" means software published by others and referenced by the deployment files (including Plex, qBittorrent, Gluetun, Sonarr, Radarr, Prowlarr, Bazarr, Gluetun, OpenVPN, FFmpeg, faster-whisper and Streamlit).

2. License grant

Subject to payment of the applicable fee and continued compliance with this Agreement, Licensor grants Licensee a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the Proprietary Components on servers owned or controlled by Licensee, for the private, non-commercial use of Licensee's own household.

2A. Purchase, updates and add-ons

(a) The license is a one-time purchase. It is perpetual and is not a subscription.
(b) All updates, fixes and quality-of-life improvements to the Software are provided to Licensee free of charge for the life of the product.
(c) Licensor may offer optional add-on packages (for example, scene filtering) for a separate one-time fee. Add-ons are not required to use the Software, and buying or declining them never affects features Licensee already has.
(d) The Software may be evaluated free of charge, with every feature, on three (3) movies and ten (10) TV episodes, counted separately, without a license key. After that, cleaning of new titles pauses until a key is entered. Titles cleaned during the evaluation are not affected.
(e) License keys are verified offline; the Software does not report usage or viewing activity to Licensor.

3. Restrictions

Licensee shall not, and shall not permit any third party to:

(a) copy, redistribute, sell, rent, lease, lend, publish, sublicense, or otherwise make the Proprietary Components available to any third party, including via public repositories, container registries, app stores, or file-sharing services;
(b) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the algorithms, structure, or logic of the Proprietary Components, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits this notwithstanding this limitation;
(c) modify, translate, or create derivative works of the Proprietary Components, or incorporate them into another product or service;
(d) use the Proprietary Components to provide a hosted, managed, or commercial service to others;
(e) remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notice; or
(f) circumvent any licensing or access-control mechanism.

4. Ownership

The Software is licensed, not sold. Licensor retains all right, title, and interest, including all intellectual property rights, in the Proprietary Components. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

5. Third-party components

The Software's container image bundles certain Third-Party Components in unmodified form, each running as a separate program. Third-Party Components are not part of the Proprietary Components, and they remain licensed solely under their own licenses, listed with source-code locations and a written source offer in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md. Nothing in this Agreement restricts any right Licensee has under those licenses, including the right to obtain, modify and redistribute their source code.

6. Lawful use

Licensee is solely responsible for ensuring that all media processed by the Software was lawfully obtained and that Licensee's use of any VPN, download client, or indexer complies with applicable law and with the terms of the relevant service providers. The Software modifies only copies of media that Licensee lawfully possesses, for Licensee's private viewing.

7. Termination

This license terminates automatically if Licensee breaches any term. On termination Licensee must stop using and destroy all copies of the Proprietary Components. Sections 3, 4, 6, 8, 9 and 10 survive termination.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. LICENSOR DOES NOT WARRANT THAT ALL OBJECTIONABLE CONTENT WILL BE DETECTED OR MUTED; DETECTION DEPENDS ON THE ACCURACY OF SUBTITLES. LICENSEE SHOULD KEEP BACKUPS OF ANY MEDIA PROCESSED.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LICENSOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA OR MEDIA, ARISING FROM USE OF THE SOFTWARE. LICENSOR'S TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT LICENSEE PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. General

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Licensor is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. This is the entire agreement concerning the Software and supersedes all prior understandings.
